The fishing-village of Bud is situated at the uttermost corner of the Romsdal coast with Hustadvika as
its closest neighbour. During the Medievals, Bud was the largest trade centre between Bergen and Trondheim.
The Germans chose to built one of their strongest coastal forts during the Second World War in Bud. The fort
has been restored and is open for guided tours during the summer season. The archipelago of Bjørnsund is
only 30 minutes by boat from Bud. Bjørnsund consists of three islands, and was an active fishing community
up until the 1970's. Despite the fact that there are no permanent recidents in Bjørnsund, you will find the
place filled with activity throughout the summer season. The Atlantic Coast Route as well as the Trollchurch
(marble cave) are easily accessible from Bud.
